Book of Mormon Historic Publication Site
The Book of Mormon Historic Publication Site is situated in Palmyra, New York. Its buildings and surrounding structures date back to the mid-1800s. Among the buildings is the E. B. Grandin Building, which houses the original manuscripts. You can also take a guided tour of the entire site.
The restored Book of Mormon Historic Publication Site is located downtown in Palmyra, New York, in a building that was used to print the first copies of the Book of Mormon. The building was once known as the E.B. Grandin Building, and the first copies were printed in 1830. The site was a popular meeting site for members of the Church, with President Hinckley and Elder Jensen giving tours. The event was closed circuit audio, and more than 800 members packed the meetinghouse.

In 1829, Grandin advertised that he intended to publish the Book of Mormon in the Wayne Sentinel. He hired Oliver Cowdery to prepare the manuscript for printing. He also purchased 500 pounds of small pica type. Gilbert worked on the manuscript during the evenings. The printing process took about three months to complete.
