Chat Bot Basics
A chat bot is a program, generally downloaded from the internet, which can perform a wide variety of tasks, including facilitating internet chat. In short, a chat bot is a program used to run an on-line chat session through either text or voice-to-voice, instead of giving direct human interaction by means of a keyboard and mouse. This technology has been available for years, but recently has seen an upsurge in popularity, with many web marketers using chat bot tools for everything from product promotion to social networking. If you’re interested in learning more about chat bots and using one of these tools for your own promotions, you may be wondering how they work. Essentially, chat bots are programs that generate responses, or virtual conversations, from a given chat room. They can be integrated into your website, email signature line, or anywhere else that you wish to place a chat bot.
Generally speaking, a chatbot works off of two main components. There is the central component, or the program itself, and the data feed which it uses to communicate with your website or web page. The central component of a chatbot may be controlled by the user, or it may be tied directly to an external database, such as a proprietary server that holds all of your contacts, or an external website which handles all of your conversations. Regardless of how the chatbot interface is displayed, this component interacts with it and all of the other components.
Before you begin working with a chatbot, or any boat for that matter, you need to familiarize yourself with how chat bots work. Fortunately, there are plenty of different websites which can help you learn more about chat bot technology. Many of these websites provide tutorials for bot installation, as well as guides for creating chat bot applications. Bot development has become much easier over the last few years, largely due to advances in software development tools. However, it still takes a lot of creativity, as most of the current crop of chat bots are still programmed in a singular way.
One of the first things you need to do before you can install a chat bot is to determine what type of chat bot you want. These days you have chat bot options which include things like; Google chat bot, Yahoo chat bot, and even Microsoft group bot. Essentially, each of these has its own advantages and disadvantages, so be sure to consider these things before purchasing one. Also bear in mind that newer chat bot technology is still relatively new, so it is easy to assume that newer bot technologies will be even better.
Once you have decided on a particular chat bot application, you need to determine how you wish to go about setting up your bot. The first step would be to log into the chat bot’s website, generally your website of choice, and set up your personal account. Once you have created your account, you then need to register your personal details and preferences (i.e. your name, email address and so forth). Now that you have registered your account, you can begin participating in the artificial intelligence conversation. Note that in some cases you will need to create an account to actually participate, while in other cases a simple click on the chat bot’s “start conversation” button will do this.
Once you’ve installed your chat bot, it is important to get it going. You can do this by using either the chat bot’s website itself or by joining one of the many chat bot communities. Either way, these chat bot communities typically provide you with resources and support. In particular, these chat bot communities are good places to discuss your progress, issues, improvements and anything else you’d like to chat about. Also, if you are using a website that allows you to chat online with other users, the chat bot’s creators probably provide a number of these chat bot communities themselves. This will provide a quick and easy way to find people with similar interests to you!
When you start chatting with other chat bot users, you may notice that they look a bit different than normal. Don’t be alarmed – chat bot visual customization was carefully designed so that it actually looks like a real human. If anything, you should be able to tell the difference between their actual appearance and a computer generated image (some appear a little darker or brighter). Most also have a speech icon which they use to briefly explain what they are doing, where they are or what they will be doing next. This helps to make them look more natural, and hopefully more human than a computer generated image.
In addition to having chat bots designed to chat with you, some companies also have chat bots designed for specific purposes. For example, there are chat bots designed to chat with real estate agents. They are also programmed to chat with realtors, but they can also be programmed to talk to prospective buyers. As you can see, there are many uses for chat bots on messenger boards and social networks, but chat bots still have a long way to go before being able to replace real humans in any kind of communication.
